The active reading strategies I like to use is to first read the paper twice. I then like to mark all of the words I don’t know and look them up for clarity. I also mark off sections I don’t understand and try to find them meaning of them. I also highlight important parts of the article and make comments on them. I also like to circle the names of important people in the article so I can find when they are referenced. My favorite brainstorming strategy is just to look back over all of my annotations I made on the article. For the draft I like to come  up with my thesis first so I have a solid direction for my paper. For the revisions I loved having peer edits. Having people look through my papers fix my grammatical errors and point out and other errors was very helpful for me. Also to just hear feedback on additions I can make to my paper helps a lot. And for polishing i just like to read my paper all the way though and make sure that it sounds smooth.
