Reread

The essay I decided to reread was “I am not a Story” by Galen Strawson. I decided to reread this due to the fact the first read was somewhat confusing.  As we had the decisions and questions on “I am not a Story” from last class I realized how many points I missed in the reading and how satirical it is. In this essay a majority of it I found to be satirical. A lot of times Strawson would introduce another author that thought that seeing your life as a narrative was a good thing. Strawson would then go along with the point the author was making for a couple of sentences. But after a sentence or two Strawson would then go on to refute the statement the other author was making. Strawson would some what poke fun at the other author making it somewhat of a joke. I have not read many articles like this one. Not many authors try to use this type of writing styles other than magazine and newspaper writers.  The read is a little confusing the first time but after reading this for a second time I actually somewhat enjoyed it. Little things like this are hard to pick up in a first read but the second read made things a lot more clear and alot more understandable.
